What's so special about this Jerker desk you all are happy about? Not trying to be ignorant, but I saw pics of it and don't see the big deal.

The strength of it. Industrial design. Ease of modifying table/shelf height and the ability to add on extra shelving if needed. Not to mention the price was very affordable ($129 I think I paid). Check out some of the creative things people have done with them:

Still not that impressed, but this one looks like an ideal music setup:

The Jerker even got a "Bigg Up" from Keyboard Magazine in 2006 as one of the years best buys.
Very modular, can have a relatively small footprint, big work surface for cheap.

When using them as (what looks to be standard setup) all of the extra extension and all, Looks WACK as hell. but using just the desk alone is what I would do, Like the guy did with the RED LIGHT PICURE
http://www.neilaudio.com/jerker/jerker5.jpg looks sweet as hell. But using it the standard way is just too much (obviously hard to keep tidy). I'm sure he is getting the best response from those speakers.

What's it like to work with the Hartmann neuron? How do you like the sounds you can create?
Is it hard to wrap your head around it's method of synthesis?

I sold the Hartmann a few years ago. It's okay. Great for sound designing on movies techno or retro sounds. Although its not so good for urban music. I was trying to be different when I got it but it was a disaster. Couldnt justify the price.
