I've been looking to buy the Motif rack. Should I buy it? Tell me what you think! If not the motif rack, what sound module is best to buy?

I own the Proteus2500 and it is a monster. Great sounds, realtime control, etc. etc...However I will be investing in the Motif rack within the next few months also. Do the math  And I will still be keeping the Proteus rack. I can not fathom that another module will ever be needed with this combination but enough about me...I think the Motif rack is a steal and is going for just under 1K now. Comes with all of the samples of the keyboard with over 100 additional user presets and 128 vs. 64 voice polyphony. Imagine that...

im not big nerd but when it comes to rap music the problem others have with poly being what it is on the keyboard really aint a problem so 128 or 64 you should not really see any difference unless your using the motif it self for everything(drums keyz and samples) cause lets be real what is the mpc poly....im not sure but its never been brought up as a problem but yea get the motif rack...i own the keyboard...its great!

I had the same question. I found this site.
Motif VS any Synth.

It seems if you want strings the triton is the way to go.
If you're looking for keyboards, Organs, Pads, drums go Motif.
Me personally, for hip hop I use my Mo phatt more than my TritonRack.
The presets were made for hiphop. And once you learn to program it you can get the sounds you want. It has a growl to it for the sreet the triton doesnt have. To me the triton sounds are to clean. Rap to me was not made for orchestra strings. THe guitars and drums in the Mo Phatt destroy
the triton. It's not even close.
