Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I recently bought a compact flash drive kit for my mpc 2000. It allows you to have a 1GB card and load wav files on it obviously. Well when chopping up sounds, is there a way to filter out instruments and pull others out. Like would I be able to filter out the drums on a certain snip I want and just use the keys being played in it?
I didn't find this in the manual either, unless I overlooked it. But no harm in asking on here.
If it is possible on the mpc how would you go about doing this? I am yearning to lay down my main sample and just take other filtered sounds and add to it.
Also is there a way to change the pitch of the sound to make it be more "in tune" with my other samples? If so how would you go about doing this on the mpc.

If anyone else has the compact flash drive, what do you think of it?
I personally think it is beneficial and in the long run will save quite a bit of money.

There isn't really a way to filter out certain instruments, your best best is to use EQ when sampling to enphasize the sounds you want then once you've sampled them use filtering to take that even further. Once you have the frequencies you want emphasized you can mask out certain things with other instruments. Try it, it works well.
