I just bought a MPC 1000 and I can't figure out how to load sounds to make a loop from memory card. I can use MPC as a device on Reason 3 no problem and that is cool by the way. Please Help, wanted to use it tomorrow in church for basic loops

put samples onto your card (eg- from your computer - like drum, clap, snare, hi hat)

Go to load button, open the file, then tap the pad u want to assign it to, and then assign the sound to the pad. boom now u have a sound on the pad. do this until u load the sounds u want.

Then go to sequence 1 in the main screen. Set the amount of bars u want ur loop to be eg -2 bars. press record, and play the sounds and it records it.

im assuming thats wat u wanted to know. if u are wondering how to get ur card to interact with the pc, u need a compact flash usb device that plugs into your computer and allows u to load files onto the card.

I think my issue is that I can drill down to the folder on the card that says drum beats but I can't drill down to the actual sounds, I press F6 to do it but all it says Load all programs and samples and All (sSeq&SONGS) files Replace same files in memory YES and then nothing happens

get ur manual out and read the relevant chapter, i got 2kxl plus my mpc is not in front of me. take three deep breaths when u get frustrated then re-read the manual.
