it wont partition

hey all.. hows it going? a little help. for some reason my 2000xl wont partition? when i format a disc, it ignores the partitioning of it and just gives me a black disc. it formats fine, disc works but it wont build my four partitions. any ideas?

What os are you rocking?

1.7.. i think

1.7 on a 2Kxl is impossible.

More likely 1.14 or 1.20 refer to your manual to see which version you run.

1.2 i was not at home when i said it was 1.7
i just turned it on and looked

Aha that explains it all OS 1.20 does no longer partition you better downgrade to OS 1.14.

what will i loose (option wise) from os 1.2?

i would like to thank you two for giving me some of your time on this small issue of mine. I have been trying to stay
off this computer and focus on my gear. I went to strictly using hardware for everything. so i wanna show appreciation to you for sitting in front of your screen for me.

You won't loose any functionality by installing OS 1.14, trust me I did the same once I discovered the partioning function had disappeared in OS 1.20. I haven't gone back to OS 1.20 since.

right on. thanks fellas. i just installed a internal zip. and downgraded to 1.14 and all is good again.
