Hi there,

here are some easy to add features I'd really like to see:

In the TRIM screen:

1) STEP-KEYS could be assigned to go the prior/next sample in the list (MPC2500)
2) usage of Q1 or Q2 to cut the sample should also affect a jump of the active field, i.e.
if setting the end point by Q2, the numeric END field should be activated. then you can
make fdine adjustments with the wheel without prior pressing the CURSOR

In the NAMING screen:
3) the ENTER-KEY should also be usable in addition to F6 (MPC2500)

In the MAIN screen (maybe not easy to implement):
4) possibility to access the NEXT SEQUENCE screen right after recording of a new sequence without
stopping the sequencer running

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'd like to be able to erase a sound no matter what track your on.. Some type of "global erase" feature. I'm so unorganized when I make my beats that I may have a single kick (for example) on a track I haven't named, and f I need to erase it later, I have to solo each track and listen for it. It would be nice to be able to erase any sound and not worry about what track I recorded it to.
Also, A track merge feature! Mark all your snares (for example) and bounce them down into one track. It would make muti-tracking a lot more efficient!

rockstar,

You can erase your kick drum by selecting the sound (mode + program) and then selecting trim (mode + trim). Once your in trim mode highlight the name of the file and hit the window button. You should see an option that will let you delete the sound.

I'd like to be able to change track number easily (ie just one button) while 'loop edit' is running from within grid edit

would make it easy to keep sounds on seperate tracks

Yes this would be very good !

track merger sounds neat. also maybe like on the 4k how you can assign a sample to a pad in program mode and on the next pad when you hit it, it goes straight to the next sample, instead of having to scroll all the way to it.

If I remember correctly, the 4K doesn't actually select the next sample, but takes the same sample, when assigning to pads. You're just one wheel click away from the sample you possibly want to assign. Nevertheless, I think you're right, this behaviour should be implemented!

Yea, I know about this, but this would erase the sound entirely from the track. A "global erase" (or whatever it could be called) would allow the user to erase any note from any track while the sequencer is playing. The best way to explain it is if you have a busy sequence with a lot of drums, and lets say you wanted to add a snare at a particular moment, but a kick is already in that spot. You may want to erase the kick but you don't know what track it's on, at the same time, if you do the program erase thing you were talking about, it would erase ALL instances of that particular sound. The "global erase" would simply eliminate searching through tracks and remove any sound from any track at any moment.. I usually place samples anywhere..especially if I've already laid the drums down, and I'll put a single kick/snare etc on any random track.
I hope I'm making sense. :)

I would like to see this implemented as wel.

I would also like to propose a feature that breaks up your sequenced pads into individual tracks.

For examle if you are on a track and recording a drum sequence with the kick and snare on one track, and then you decide you want to break up that kick n snare track into an individual kick track and individual snare track so you can multi-track the individual drum sounds.

This is a feature that I thought was really cool on the Roland MV.

Small WFImprovement,

While in main menu "while sequence is playing" when you highlight TRACK 01 etc(to change name),you can't just turn the data wheel to change name, you have to press window/arrow to track name then turn data wheel to do so.Something
small but it would just be that much quicker!-J.

While i'm not using the mpc sampler anymore right now (just the sequencer) i do think i have an idea that would improve workflow when working with "INST" programs.
It would be much faster if you could set the midi-note assignments by pressing a key on an external keyboard.
Like if you want to set the original note number on a sample you could just go there with the cursor , press the correct midi note on the keyboard and it would be fine , no more endless jog wheel dialing.

JJ should check out an emu sampler for idea's , they work really fast and easy.
Greetz....

this would be one of the best improvements in workflow. and it seems easy to add..
