i'm finally ordering an MPC 2000xl tomorrow.

My question is, i'm getting one with 32mb, 8 outs, smpte and an external zip drive. i wanted to know is an internal zip a better option.
When sequencing sounds and whatnot, do you play the sounds from the zip, or do you transfer the sounds from the zip to the mpc first? If directly from the disk, is there any latency or other problems involved with using an external zip, or is an internal zip a better option?

Just wondering if an internal zip is a smoother, better funtioning process than an external one, or are they basically the same thing. I was thinking the external one might be good as i can transfer sounds to my laptop, and as i wont have much dough afterwards to buy a zip, (bought an ortofon super om30 also) the external drive ill be getting wih the MPC is a good thing. But is an internal one better?

Any replies would be very helpful.

The internal zip in my og 2kxl failed on me after approx. one year whereas the external 100mb scsi zip still works fine. I went the Cf reader route a long time ago and haven't looked back on zip drives since.
