Formatting with JJ OS

Ok I am finally thinking of getting the JJ OS for my 2500 and I'm probably gonna get 1 and 2. the AKAI OS **** blows just like their customer service and I've been getting all kinds of corrupt files. project files corrupt, ALL SEQ files corrupt and IPT project files corrupt as shit! I've lost hours and hours of work with this piece of shit as well as like 10 platinum records (haha) anyway its either update to JJ's OS or catch a body over at AKAI. What I was wondering is, I have read i will need to format my HD and CF cards with the new JJ OS to prevent the corrupt file nonsense but I was wondering do I only have to do it once with the updated OS1? or when I get OS2 will I need to format all my stuff again. its a pain to back everything up but I'm seriously pissed off here. Basically Ifd I have to format each time I might as well get both OS and then format everything. any help is appreciated. as much as i love my MPC I have owned the 1000 and now 2500 and i'm really not impressed at all with how **** unreliable these things can be. peace

hey, i switched my mp about 2 mnths ago to the free 3.08 version. poss because the two versions of os are quite similar, (in look at least) i didnt need to format my cf card and everything has been running fine - so far!
I'm sure ill def need to do the formatting once i finally get the pimped versions!

I didn't reformat mine and i'm having problems. I'm just trying to work out how to copy my harddrive now so I can do it

I'm also wondering about this. I'll get my hd tomorrow and want to buy the JJOS2 when I figure out how this paypal thingy works. And I will need to format my hd and put all the samples on it, which will go hours, I think. So my question is, can I just download the free JJOS version and format the hd with that and everything will be fine when I upgrade to JJOS2?
