I found Ritec's sample catalog: http://www.geocities.com/samplecatalog/ This program works excellent. You can have it scan your hard drive for wave files, Preview on the fly, then catagorize them according to type of sounds. This is excellent for the way I work!
Others I found are
total commander
xplorer 2 lite
Didn't have any issues so far with sampletagger - but I didn't use it 'in anger' yet.
Is there anything different about the WAV's it won't read for you i.e. bit depth, sample rates or filenames etc?
I'll check those other apps out as I'm managing all of my samples the manual way at the moment and it takes a lot of effort - I need to work smarter with this.
Thanks again.
