RECORD IN/signal reduction

Ive got my recordplayer hooked up to my MPC through a amp. Anyway, the signal is way too loud, even with the REC GAIN at it lowest.

Are there any way to reduce this in the software for instance?

don't use an amp. use a phono preamp, or hook to your MPC directly if your turntable has a built-in pre
