So,

If I scan with Soundiver it doesnt see my virus if its connected thru the mpc ie

soundcard - >MPC - > virus
then virus -->soundcard

it works straight in an out conn. to virus but its hassle replugging everytime.

obvously it seems there summin in the mpc stoppin soundiver from communicating wiv mi virus. does anyone know anything about this??
cheers

Look to see if the MPC is filtering any Midi messages.
Look thru the MPC manual or thru the Midi Screen pages on the MPC to check it out. If that isn't the problem then maybe a midi interface would be the answer, but I believe that would probably be unnecessary.

Peace.

I don't think that will work. i had the same sort of thing tring to do a mididump through another sampler's midi-through. Didn't work. When i hooked it up directly to my pc, no problem.
Depending on the way you work, if you're not sequencing the virus with the mpc, you could put the virus first in the midichain.
Soundcard midi-out ----> virus midi-in
virus midi-out ----> mpc midi-in
mpc's midi-out ----> soundcard midi-in
Since the virus is now first in the chain, it should work with sounddiver.

If that doesn't work for you, your only option is to buy a switchbox to keep you plugged in at all times. The only ones i've ever seen are Philip Rees.
