is this a serious question?.......

Record in is where you would i dont kno...RECORD YOUR SAMPLES FROM!

The stereo out is where you would plug in your monitors/speakers,so on.

assignable mix out are for your eight outs expansion where you can track out your tracks/sequences.

PLEASE...PLEASE READ THE MANUAL FIRST NEXT TIME OR SEARCH AROUND BEFORE YOU ASK, ITS ALL BASIC KNOWLEDGE.

Yesss, the 16 pads on the faceplate are there to program ur stuff in real time.

Yesss, ur smart, just press the rec+play button if u want to record.

Uhhm...Tough quesion. I think u have to switch on the power button if u want to turn the mpc on.
