Sound Modules

Has anyone heard anything about the "Mo Phatt" sound module. If not, is there another that would be good to use with the MPC? I have a Trtion, but I'm looking for some new sounds.

I wouldnt go that far....There are now better options out there, but it can do a job for some of us. I got one....Dont uses it tht much but it can come in handy....Once u start 2 tweak it etc u get good results

Its drums/perc are cool....Some other little bits & bobs aint bad too. I think a mo phatt is more of add on rather than a brain module

Those EMU line of Sound Modules are cool - you have to really get in there and work it to get what you want out of it - I sold my extreme lead for a Flat Panel Computer Monitor and haven't miss it. But I'm new to this country, just moved here from Mongolia, so don't take my word for it. You'll probably have to just get in there and work it.

Also, some out board effects will add the chunk your looking for...

Roland XV series with SRX expansion packs. Can't beat it.

i got the mo phatt in the board style not the mod.and i think it has some nice sounds.jus gotta tweak em

I got the EMU XK-6 with the Mo Phatt ROM...There's alot of tweekable sounds in that library...

sorry i can't mess with emu any more the only thing that they ever made that was hot was the sp1200

My choice could be peanut butter module, but you might like the jelly better. It's really what suits your need, and what's good for you.

LOL!! Yeah, I like Roland too... Roland always got the bangin' sound libraries...I'm thinking about getting the new 909.

everyones taste are different. just go to the music store and spend an afternoon there just testing the sounds of all the modules. only you know what sounds you like. you also have 30 days to return it. if after a week you really do not like it just return it and pick another one.

I love the Mo'phatt, Audity, Orbit..EMU is the shit. Plus easy as hell to use slaved to a MPC.

I agree...it's easy slaving it to the MPC and can be expanded with other sounds...The filters are real nice; I don't think most users even expand to using the front panel knobs to tweek the sounds to create new ones.

Also, I just finished working with a client who uses the Alesis Ion (not sure if I spelled that right)...But that unit had some crazy nice sounds too.
