MPC2500 Discontinued?

Well... I haven't felt the need to use JJ OS because Akai 1.23 has been doin' the job. Like I said, I will load the free version and then decide whether or not I want to take the plunge. Plus, I'm broke.

in jjos, you can do it from any screen and record the change.

and stilo...regarding the MPC having the best workflow you've experienced: this is worth mention because i've used the stock OS's for both the 1000 and the 2500 (very identical in layout, based on the same original programming) and all i can say is that it does get better. the speed of simple actions that you must repetitively do all the time is exponentially faster in the jjos. if i were to go back, i would be unbelievably frustrated.

but really, it does seem like you've made up your mind already but that's just what i had to say.

What DAW do you use? I mean can't you do everything that you do in the JJOS in your DAW?

you sure could do the same thing in reaper
but it would be clumsier and take longer for either of the two of us to do it in reaper than it would in an MPC - because it's what we're used to and what we've come to prefer.

the point of jjos is entirely compositional in nature, NOT intended for replacement of daw functions but rather to improve the process of composition.

having been through the os wars, i've come to figure that it'd be great if everyone calmed down and looked at the data rather than big boying.

That might be true, although I still say the MPCs have one of the best user interfaces around.

If you think you absolutely need those extra features and they are worth the money to you, go ahead...but don't act like everyone who doesn't is a dumbass (Nym, you know this is not to you personally...).

You guys telling us that we are pretty much dumb @sses for not using the JJOS, Is like telling Dr. Dre he should use the 2500 instead of the 3000's (Notice that's PLURAL). Whatever works for whomever, RESPECT IT!

I have a GOOD QUESTION (and I KNOW that it's been asked before, But ANYWHO)
Does JJ have BUGS and if so is he good about fixing them.

I feel you Nym.....and I'm convinced that the JJOS is all that you say it is. My problem with this thread is the way some of these JJOS users rant on so pompously, spouting off their opinions,...in the end all that they say just sounds like a bunch of noise and IMO does nothing for the guy who maybe interested in the JJOS.

I dont believe anybody called any of you dumbasses.

Give me a break. You guys get all defensive, like Nym said just read the facts and see what the JJOS can do whether you pay or if you get the free version your still better off with JJOS.

I use Cubase and Reaper thanks to NYM. Id rather do most of my work on the MPC then the final touches get done on the DAW.
