FIREWIRE 4 TO 6 PIN RECORDING.

my labtop olny has a 4 pin firewire port but firewire ports on audio interfaces are 6 pins can you record from a 6port to 4port beacuase the make cords like that. can you use that cord on audio interface to record.

has any one done this and did you have any problems

If I'm not mistaken the two extra pins are only for the power. So you would need an extra power supply for the interface.

so all i will have to do is get a ac plug and it will work are you shure
