Hi.

If im building a sequence and i start with just a couple of sounds looping and i trigger a long spoken word sample it plays fine over the loop. As i add more and more elements to the loop the triggering of the long spoken word sample is shortened to just a second or less. Ive tried this with different samples and different programs.

I also notice that as i add more and more elements to the loop, other samples such as drum loops that form the foundation to the loop start to drop out time to time. . .

Any ideas what this could be. Im on 2.11 OS.

Thanks, Ben

this too, was happening to me but on my mp500. It hasnt yet on my 1000. But i've only had it a few days. What i would do tho, is, add as many elements as i could before the one of the sample 'loops' drop out. And resample that. Then place that on a pad and play the rest of your samples over that. I would like to know y this happens tho. Incase i run into it on my 1000.

i only have 1 loop and no other long samples. I just want to randomly trigger some of the long spoken word samples to create some variation whilst im performing. Its not like they loop round within the sequence.

The 1 loop that i do have is a drum loop and i trigger it as a loop, rather than the individual parts as its too complicated to play in live. . .

this happened to me with a chopped up loop, the very end sample just disappeared, but when i removed some drum sounds it would reappear!!

Its only ever happened once though.

So try removing some things or solo whatevers missing and see if it works

Yep, it can look like that when alot of stereo samples are in play together.

Polyphony can get eaten up really quick.

Stereo samples...
Of course, never occured to me that a stereo sample uses 2 voices. And that's why it happens with loops most of the time, cuz chopped samples are converted to a mono sample, and loop stays stereo.

MPC1000 inherits all of the essential MPC features such as 32-voice stereo sampling, 64-track sequencing, and 16 velocity and pressure-sensitive MPC pads, fitting all the production capability into a compact, affordable package. 16MB of on-board.......

What does the specs say for polyphony on page 91 of the 1k manual.?

Know your machine, know it's strengths and weaknesses.
Some stuff you can get around, some you can't.
