32MB enough for composing/production (MORE THAN BEATS!) ???

will 32 MB will be enough?

i want to do more than only beats on a XL
i want play midi like bass from it and record back and want to play external sources into it
like chords and mix em up

arrange the whole song there more or less and than track to logic to further shape

will 32MB be fine?

32MB holds your samples, MIDI information takes up very little memory and storage space. 32MB is plenty.

if your planning on recording your midi tracks back into the mpc then 32 will probably not be enough. but you can leave the midi tracks playing from your synth's/ modules. then just track them into logic directly from there. then you will be fine with 32. thats how i did it with my xl and i never ran out of space

hmm i rather dont use much real synth, just have one Clavia
mainly i would use virtual instruments / and samples
played on my master keyboard or the mpc`s midi itself

i really wanna mess with this beast not only for drums but for sample/melody/song arrange stuff as well
basicaly my aim is to be able to "on the fly" while recording to Logic (of course having everathign prepared in the mpc before)
to do all the variations... like breaks, special rolls... one time special sounds and such stuff because i really really dont like to do such thing in the software world... and with the mpc i can do it by feeling, with my hands..... no mouse no automation

is this only possible because of the 128mb ?

ehm yes i am also aware of the fact that hes using a 1000 not a 2k XL wich is with 32 at its max.

i have no idea how much that amount 32 or 128 mb of time and capacity gives me but i can always track in between to logic, playback there, clear mpc memory and proceed with the song

I use my 2000 classic as a sampler as well as to trigger a number of synths and I have never run out of memory. MIDI does not take up very much memory. Once I have a bunch of sequences done I put them in song mode and track them out into my DAW. From what I understand you want to do this but instead of recording sequence information of things like drops and mutes and drum rolls you want to do it live on the fly while you are tracking out. I don't see why 32MB isn't plenty of ram to do everything you want to do and more unless I'm totally missing something here.

but very interesting, i am new to mpc... XL s not even here but you mentioned that song mode... sounds logical
thats what i meant about arranging, just didnt know there is exatcly that function, and named like that etc
