A sample program can hold 64 sounds (4 pad banks x 16 pads = 64 sounds) ?

The 5k can load a total of 128 programs?

Hey!

This question's not on topic, but how's things working out with that new Motis XS of yours?

Are you enjoying it with the MPC5000?

I'll PM you later - I've got some useful info for the XS which will help you out - A LOT!

pg 13-14.

Lampdog,

sorry I didn't clarify. That page is the reason why im asking this question. because it says 100 programs can be loaded into memory.

but if you read the back, on page 179, it says Number of programs: 128.

so im confused :?:

I'm gonna say just like the 2kxl can have 26 loaded in memory but 4 active at the SAME time.

Sound Generator for 2kxl
• Number of sound programs .......... 24

*24 loaded in ram, BUT there are only 4 active*

Sound Generator for 5kl
• Number of sound programs .......... 128

*128 loaded in ram, BUT there are only 100 active?!?*

*That's what I understand from the manual*

Either way, are you planning on using 100 programs? lol.

Isn't someone going to sit down and actually create 128 programs and then try to assign more than 100 to see if it actually works, someone?

im doing it right now.. Been using sample tagger to organize and delete sounds I dont need. 29gb worth of stuff. Backing up my sounds to an external HD of course..

You really think I would like a 300GB HD go to waste?

The 5K only gives you 64 tracks per sequence and 1 program per track.

The MPC 5000 can handle 100 programs in memory ( i request at least 300 cause of the synth pgr )

Number of sounds ???? well .....it depends the size of the samples .....but if you do a rapid calcul : 100 * 64 = 6400 sounds max.

The 5K only gives you 64 tracks per sequence and 1 program per track.

Yes though you can use differents programs on each sequence so the test can be done ...

Why would u need that much memory when u have the option to store memory on a flash drive, CD-R, DVD-R and/or computer? What happens when you hard drive fells. Hard drives are only good for 3 to 5 years-more if your lucky.
