JJ OS Feature Requests (ARCHIVE)

Sample cd import and or load. Basically like on the 4000. Read Akai , E-mu Sample cd's and programs. I guess you'd have to have a cd rom or crdr hooked up to it so cd rom cdr through the usb.

in pattern (line) mode instead of having a fader type selector for the velocity, maybe a numeric value with the full velocity range 0-127, like all the other ones.

this would allow me much more expression, instead of the 7 stage range.

I deffinately see what your saying nanoloop, but I really like the fader. Right now, if you hit the shift button and move the jog wheel the fader turns from full to off. Maybe if you are on the fader and you hit shift it could show 0 through 127 instead. Just my thooughts on it...

im just dreaming of a way to use it on external synth over midi, maybe if the tune value sent midi notes too,

right now im jizzin over the thought of a pad to track button, lay down ya whole sequence in track 1 , then it EXPLODES each pad to a discrete track.

Nanoloop, Is the EXPLODE feature something that is going to be in the XL version?

In program mode it would be good if you could change the settings for all layers by holding a button while you change a value. right now I have to adjust tune etc for each layer individually, except when i can copy all settings from another pad.

A couple more:
1. A button that works like ctrl in windows, so you can highlight and change multiple things at once. you can already do something like this in program mode, and with erase, but not it trim. Even if this isn't possible, it would be great if you could convert all samples to mono at once the way you can change the bitrate.

2. I'd rather have multiple instances of effects like eq than something like reverb which the mpc doesn't do that well. a master routing matrix would be nice..... so you could have say 4 EQs open and 3 or 4 main input sources -- program, track, sequence and song. mode+pad15 doesn't seem to be doing anything usefull.... I always just click 'main'.

I'd also vote for getting rid of the input pitch shift if it means there can be more things like fx automation, although i haven't tried it out yet.

Left/right cursor functions by hitting pads in the load screen (e.g. 13 &14). All they seem to do now is play the sample if one is selected, but you don't need all of them for that. or F4/F5 maybe.

I hope the Xl will have volume mute option in track mute screen and offcourse my biggest wish is and option to reverse the mute colors like I wrote that allready 10 times in this and other topics. I still just can understand why JJ ever inverted them.
When you select something, it get's a color, just like on you windows computer and just like in every other MPC with Akai os or the free JJ 3.08 os. Please please! I want to use JJ os live but will make mistakes if I have to think about the mutes. I build my songs using mute/unmute during a live performances so I'm on the track mute screen all the time. At home I'm a heavy 2KXL user which records live track also in the mute screen so then it's so confusing to have two different methods

Is the file type filter in the load screen already back in OS2 latest version? Haven't used my mpc for a while, so if not, this feature will be nice. Akai os has it. So in the load screen, you could select, wav, sequence, program, etc and it only displays that file type.
Very handy if you don't use folders and have like 1000 files. Off course the scrolling goes much faster then the akai os, but still, this feature is very handy.

I saw today that JJ will add "Bar loops".

-But I would like this kind of feature with quantize. So you could loop a part of the sequence at 1/16 or 1/8 like a beat repeat. I think this would be FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

I really like beat repeat (especially the plugin "beat repeat" on "Abelton Live"). If JJ could try to make an option like this beat repeat, I would be very greatfull!!

And I think it's possible. See what he has already done!!!
