Hello all.

The word 'touche' was a term used in fencing in olden times (probably still is), referring to being touched by your opponent's rapier. As they used blunted weapons, a touch was considered as wounding and earned you points depending on where it landed upon your august person.

That's why I quoted the 'Popular culture' definition associated with debate - not the literal definition relating to the sport of fencing - but thanks for adding further clarity
