Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

??? I have a ?uestion for all my Mpc 2000xl users i just got the right scsi cord for my mpc and i agot a scsi cd drive but when i turn on my mpc and press load it sometimes says scsi not ready maybe it the cd i loaded in the drive but what kind of of cd do i need is it a cd -r or what ??????? ???

Make sure to first power up the external cd drive and then your MPC.

nope on a 2kxl you can read standard data cds and cd-r.

ok well i turned on the cd drive first like you said but its still was saying scsi not ready so i looked at the cd drive instead of the light being green it orange and when im on the mpc i go to still see if the files are coming up then there files by the name of **>> over and over and i cant open them up

what do you mean by the character file names do u mean the name of the files are to long also do you think its the disk im loading from because i dont think its a cd-r plus it says scsi not ready and the drive turns from green to orange which probably mean incomplete

Na 7 1 4 Beats is refering to the format of the cdrom, you can either have a standard cd layout like any data cd read by a pc or a akai formatted cd layout.
