I thought active track was supposed to feature the sounds from pads on an idividual track....ie track 1 recorded snares and kicks track 2 recorded hi hats and claps, so when you hit active, you now have access to mute the kit used on the "active" track. but i dont think this is the case, so can someone enlighten me?
btw. if this is not the case, i love my idea if you guys are down for it!

if you have a q-link assigned to effect a "track" then you can change the selected track without having to leave the track mute screen, very handy indeed.

can this be done on the 1000? I've still got OS1 and will feel like a big ole turd if this is common knowledge...just never tried it before.

call me lazy, but i've been having fun with OS1 so hadn't payed much attention to OS2...kinda late with OS2kxl coming in a few weeks, huh? haha

yeah...i'll have to update soon...I should probably just wait til os2kxl though right? It's right around the corner, and it doesn't make much sense to me to learn something new for 2 weeks and then get something else new to learn...I have gone THIS far without OS2, so what's another 2 weeks, right?

2 is phenomenally better than one...I don't know about the upgrade deal...but you have been missing out!

I'm sure! Not sure why I didn't pay much attention to the upgrade to os2...I guess I was happy with my workflow in OS1. The beats sound good to me and are fun to make, but I suppose if it can be EVEN more fun, why not upgrade? I'll be getting my serial for 0s 2 soon...

Oh yeah Dirtybird! I friended you up on myspace...I thought I already had you on my list, but I guess not...dig the music!

Yeah, I thought OS 1 was the $hit (which it is relative to the akai os) until trying os2...I'm really looking forward to the xl too.

rich_biatch wrote:so yall are sayin that OS2 lets you switch the active track while in the track mute screen? no way!

yupper

you can switch in different ways too, like keeping the 'active' function "hot" so that any track u touch turns 'active' instantly, so u can twat yer trackwabzonnerquelinker.
