For the lettering, check out dry transfer methods and clear coat it a few times. It took me a few hours to get it right. DO NOT clear coat over sharpie markers. Your letters will spread like a rash.

I was looking into this, as well as some other things. Did you just use standard try transfer lettering? I know it can rub off easily, i guess the clear coat solves this but i'd be afriad if i bought the wrong stuff, it may lift when cleared. Obviously it's alot of work to do so that is why i'm asking.

yo man just tell me how ya did the lettering or is that a special unknown 9th wonder jean grae edition mpc

if it's the dry transfer stencil how do you get the letters perfectly even or did you pre-order each word and then you transfer the whole word or is it a letter at a time

Not really a mystery, try pulsar fx out of Florida. Google search, simple. I lined up the graphics by using my mutated hand/eye coordination though. In order to use the transfer, you will need a laser printer and a lamination machine. Like any endeavor, it takes trial, error, communication and a sh!tload of luck.

just saw this (sorry if this is old news):

http://mpcstuff.com/wood-side-panels-fo ... -1000.html

not as cheap as the needlework ones, and don't look as good to me, but it's another option for all you customizing bastards out there!

Is it just me, or is mpcstuff too expensive?

all of these buttons were painted with rustoleum spraypaint. 2 coats. a light tack coat and
then a coverage coat. only 20 minutes apart. let them dry over night. dont get too anxious
to put them back on. with my cases i always use auto finish systems. but its just not worth it
on the buttons to go into all the effort. krylon sucks ass. and the "fusion" paint only sticks
because it never really dries hard. so dont use it. if you prep your buttons right with alcohol.
you wont have any problems with the paint chipping off. i have done a but load of units like
this and never had any problems.

Nice ^^^^ didn't someone suggest using a light weight sandpaper on the buttons before painting? Or is that a bad idea...

Just a tip for painting...You can get a cheap harbor freight airbrush compressor for $50. Their cheapo $5 airbrushes suck for real work but for painting regular stuff, no artwork, they are nice as you can turn the flow way up.

The two things, first, you get MUCH thinner coats. This is a huge advantage basically anywhere but the smaller the thing you have to paint, the better thin coats are. 10 coats would be about what 1-2 coats of spray paint would be. Second, you can have it pay for itself, if you do alot of painting as paint is cheaper for the quantity (paint goes a long way). However, nice paint (house of kolor) for example, is more for the color, it will still go further than the same amount of money in spray paint for alot of their colors. Some are crazy expensive. But the rustolium line in non spray is cheaper than a can of spray paint and will last 25+ times as long.

Just a tip if you plan to do alot of this stuff, MPC's or any paint work. The quality is better, better colors, and again, cheaper over the long run (but far more expensive for just a few projects).
