Yes. If you have a good looping loop you can calculate the exact bpm:

(quarter beats x 44100 x 60) / endpoint = bpm

That's sick...
That was one of the things that bugged me about my ASR...
I would even sample loops over to the mpc sometimes just to check their bpm...
either that or I would bang on the tap tempo button on the MPC while the loop played on the ASR...

Nice post, just for making me think about the relationship between sample length and time
