Busted screen on brand new MPC 2000XL-MCD

I so decided on a MPC 2000XL MCD got it home and pluged it in, the bloody thing had those blank lines i see on old 2K's. Anyway took it back to the shop and there going to fix it (up to 3 months). What are the chances of that on a brand new uint ? and do they need to replace the whole screen ?.

Last one in stock so there is nothing they can do, im in Australia so MPC 2000XL-MCD are hard to come by new.

Yeah it was and when i turned it on... there was those dead lines on the screen. I just hope this does not takes years to fix. Does the lines mean new screen ?.
