wats good peoples...
ive got a 500 as my first mpc, i wouldve liked to get a 2500 but i didnt have enough funds so decided to get the 500 as the 'entry level' mpc. my question is, as a user who has never had any experience with mpc's before, will using and learning the 500 mean that when i eventually do upgrade to a 1000/2500/5000 illl be able to learn more quickly (obviously also taking in the fact that ill have to learn more anyway as these have larger menu's, features, specs etc.)
eseentially the question is, does the 'mpc style' run through each of the mpc's the same? will i be familiar with a 2500 if i were to jump on one today and start banging out a beat if ive never used one before, just because its menu's have some similarity to the 500? i.e. 16 levels, note repeat, q-links, full levels all that sort of stuff. And also are the menus on the OS of the 500 similar (but obviously downgraded and compact) to the menus of the higher end models?
also another question, how would you rate the 500 as a beginners model to the mpc line. i.e. if there was someone new to the mpc line would you advise them to get a 500 and learn on that first, or just go straight to a 2500 or something, and only advise on the 500 for its portability and small footprint factor?
thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts!!!
