we are posting at the same time! anyways, the thought has crossed my mind. I was thinking of keeping my current mpc2000xl, and checking out a z4/8.....thing is, i want a sampler differant than the 2000xl. Not that i dont like it, but i want some filters, maybe resampling.

Its not that i dont like how im working with the 2000xl, its that it doesnt really offer "more of what i want" I dont really want to buy a filter module either, in any event, ive been using my triton sampler, getting decent results, but the timestretch really sucks on it. I actually love the 2000xl timestretch. So those are just some of my reasons. I guess i gotta just try one and keep the return receipt. Either way now that i think about it, the 950 i could always just keep for my arsenal, and i wont loose big bucks on it.

well than a 4k would nt do the trick either.. FX sucks (reaally sucks, oh my..), filters are decent. No advanced EQing on the 4k either!

from a 2k and s3k to much shift between machines with the 4k everythings right there all i want now is a keyboard (phantom or motif) thats all u need.. the 4k is a decent machine worth the money..so mo get it and dont turn back. I have one for real and love it, while this cats beef about the shortcomming i bang out tracks with ease...

It is a deep machine read and practice it to get understanding of its use. And don`t be influence by some of the negative comments about the machine on this board by others because there will be some downtime learning all of the added functions but once you go 4000 their will be no looking back.
