Cymbal crash sounds?

Does anyone have any?

I have a bunch of hi-hats, but hardly any cymbals.

Is this the place to ask?

for cymbal crashes i generally use samples from classic/old drum machines, rather than sampling from records.

there are lots of places to download old drum machine samples.
hyperreal.org has a few -- look around under the music machines link.
go to piratebay -- there is a file going around with every drum machine under sun

Yeah I got that file. It has a ton of drum machines, but very little sounds for each of them.

It's ok though.

dude, most drum machines only have 1 cymbal sound.
you need to get creative. layering, pitching, reverbs etc etc

there are few cymbals packs, convert to wav and voila

Yeah I hear you. That's the one thing I miss about my old MC-808, it had some nice cymbals on it. It had one I used that sounded very bright (if I can use that as a description).

i have like 5 from records, i think theyre like the hardest drum sound to find open.

but anyway i havnt done this yet but my boy who is a drummer gave me the idea of sampling cymbal sounds off of

you can choose style and also you can choose size im pretty sure, havnt been there in a minute but this is an untapped goldmine for cymbal samples.

That's good man, i went there and I think I found the cymbal sound I am looking for.

Thanks for this. Now I can just plug in a mic and sample it right into the MPC right?

^ i would just buy a 1/8 to rca wire, get 2 1/4 inch adaptors for the rca sides. plug the 1/4ths (which were rcas) into the record ins on ur mpc and plug the 1/8th side into the headphone or speaker jack of your computer
