i got an orginal of superfly (curtis mayfield produced 50%)
i was the first person to open it ..
cost me 10 american dollars ..
but its the smell of BRAND NEW VINYL
it's the sweetest pu$$y

whew :shock:

im scared to spin it .. i have all these tracks already . but this one is brand NEW

i've got quite a few sealed copies of mid 80s house from new york and chicago. whenever i open one, i make sure to take a deep breath and hold it for as long as i can.
although i think i sniffed one of larry sherman's farts opening a trax record once.

yeah, i'm a fanatic - every day is 1987 for me. when i first heard house, i asked where it came from, then packed my bags and moved to new york (chicago was way, way too cold for an australian to even contemplate). best thing i ever did.

Once you've had the experience of opening sealed records that are warped (happens way too often) you'll truly lose that appreciation for it. But it is great when the record is ok.
According to an interview I saw with Jesse Saunders, Dj Pierre and a couple of other ol school cats they were talking about how Larry Sherman(who admits it) used recycled vinyl and that's why a lot of Trax's records are warped or of low quality.

Yep and extremely bad record pressing. I've had 4 copies of Marshall Jefferson's "Move your Body" and all 4 had the same indent in the middle of a track where it skipped. What's the odds of that?

Oh yeah... not to jack a thread but I got to brag... I got a red vinyl Farley "Jackmaster" Funk - "Funkin with the drums again" on Trax Records! I've had that record for 23 years now!
