Hang on.......when you switch on the MPC, how are you loading up the OS if your floppies aren't working???
When you load a floppy are any of the contents being listed? If not you might have erased your floppies, however if you have lots of them it is unlikely you would be unlucky enough to destroy all of them. As you say you cannot save stuff either your floppy drive might just need a clean.
Have you tried formatting a new disk, or re-formatting an old one that you can sacrifice? Does it let you do this? If it does, can you save & then re-load to this disk?
