hahah for real.

pleasant you realize you're getting a kick out of making fun of a 19 year old for being younger and having less post than you and you're the only one "lmao"ing at your own jokes. and its a little ignorant to assume everyone whos younger and making music is inferior to you.

but either way "doing your homework" on investments is important no matter which way you say it. no need to get worked up about how a person says it, timmy. the same as when people say "RTFM", its not meant in an insulting way (usually) its just how conversation on the forum flows.

for the record - lovin' my brand new mpc 500. its exactly what i was looking for !

Had an mpc 1000 before with jjos - and the main differences are

i) less pads (ok obvious - but all the same)
ii) the display but its workable

then there's the advantage of portability

this machine is brilliant - even with the standard akai os.

:D

hello mate i have been using the mpc1000 and mp500 for quite a while and i would strongly recommend pushing the wallet just a little harder to go for a mpc1000 just because you will learn a lot more a lot quicker and the actual usability of the machine wont hold you back.

i use bowth machines live in a band for vocal, instrumental and other samples and find the 500 great for this evan better because its smaller and lighter for giging but it does lack your 4 extra pads.

The main area in which the 500 struggles is in the studio TRIMMING especially is a nightmare on the 500 because you cant see your important wave form.

so yeah get a 1000 do it, and if your a student just fetch a 0% loan from one of those stupid banks

The trimming can be a bit nightmarish especially if you have a big sample you want to chop..but you get the hang of it and you'll be able to chop fast.
I agree with Quantum though..if you can, fork out the extra cash for a 1000.

Are you trying to type as you speak, or were you never tought how to write English properly?! Not sure on that one mate. All I know is that this kid has come here for advice and has correctly posted his question in the 'getting started' section, yet all the "ol'dawgs" can suggest is that he does his homework. Does this site not qualify as part of doing his homework??

The old boy network that some tag onto like sheep in here is a crock of shit in my opinion! If you were that confident in your knowlege and skill you would have zero problems in passing some of it on.
