Just got my 2000XL and Cant load anything...Help please?!

I have a CD ROM hooked up and when I press Shift>load it says not ready...same thing when there is a flash card in the flash drive...Any ideas?

now, it is saying that there is no SCSI Device ! !
buut, it is plugged in the back of the unit.

Check your SCSI ID on the ext cd rom.
or... hopefully you hooked the SCSI cable up before you turned on the MPC.
If not, you blew the SCSI fuse on the MPC. Not good.

for the flash drive, open up the the bottom of the MPC and make sure the ribbon cable is seated all the way in to the connector slot on the main board and on the back of the card reader.

I did hook up he CD-Rom up before I turned on the MPC. Still not working. For opening up the bottom, is that something (some one who doesnt know how to do stuff like that) should do? Should I take it to someone who knows how to work Akai products?

What id is your cd rom set to ?

it is set at 1. and now my CD ROM drive wont turn on...im gunna cop another over the weekend. this is annoying, i havnt been able to do anything with it yet!

Also, if i did indeed blow the SCSI fuse/drive.. is it an expensive fix?

Where kind of cd rom drives are there and where can i get them?

IF YOU HAVE THE CARD READER TAN **** A SCSI DEVICE!

is it an external card reader too? try making sure the device is powered on with the card in it before you turn on the mpc
