turning on mpc60

hey, I have just opened the package with my mpc 60 mk1, but i dont have any disks with samples yet (usb floppy drive will come tomorrow) and i am wondering if i am able to turn it on without putting any disk into it? maybe it is newbie question (definitely) but i am really concerned if it is faulty or something since when i turn it on the screen is just plain green and the disk button flashes once. i would appreciate any help from you guys. thanks!

TUrn it on you don't need a disk unless you want to save or load sounds.

ok, but as i have written before - there is no signs on the screen nor text, it is just flashing green... so it is probably faulty?

Open it up and see if it has it's rom installed. Call VST or Forat.

move the contrast knob.

I need to send you my S3000! It sounds crappy with low levels when sampling. I opened it up and did't see nothing.

ill do it as soon as i get a solder iron

Fortunately, after repairing the damaged board it is working now

another mk1 came back to life
