I was messing around with sample layers and simult again today. I really wish SIMULT would go away and instead improve upon sample layers. I want each sampler layer to have its own level, tune, range, pan, output, filter envelope, LFO, amp evelope, effect send, etc.

Im with you on that, brotha. i shouldn't have to run different pads through the mixer just to filter when im trying to layer. In the pgm edit screen volume and pitch etc is fine but....c'mon now.

Also you should be able to edit the timing of the layers when you press the pad in a separate menu. if you want to bring the clap a little early than the hit to produce that "together" sound (things like that) for my layer, i shouldn't have to edit the individual sounds in the sequencer.

If u want a clap or something to be alittle earlier u should just have the TC off and record the clap earlier. ISnt it just as simple as that?

There is another side to this. The pad layers enable you to edit all samples on the pad as a whole. If you take that away you will be simultaneously(pun not intended) removing a useful feature. Editing layers as a whole combined with simult allows you to do both. Edit as whole or simult for separate filter LFO etc. It also allows for a velocity layered snare that can be combined with a tambourine with simult. The snare can be edited as one sound and the percussion separate. I understand that you want separate filters per layer but I would not wipe out the existing functionality for it.

Maybe just allow for separate parameters per layer but an option to edit the entire pad as one unit like it does now. kind of like GPE on the single pad level. It can be activated with a switch per pad or shift as a modifier. Along with that we will still KEEP simult. This way nothing is lost but more gained.
