Craigslist Deal

So, on my local craigslist, there is a ad for 1000 vinyls of various genres going for 100$. I e-mailed the person asking for a more detail on genre of vinyls he owns, Just waiting for a response. Now, I feel this is a really great deal, even though I have not YET started collecting vinyls, I might start here.
My question is, seeing that I hope to get lab getting started soon, do you all think it would be more smart of me to first purchase an MPC first, or get onto this deal? When I start putting together music, I would like to start sampling records, I say that just to put insight forward to your help.

I can only afford mpc OR Vinyls, so all input is appreciated.

That's a good deal, no matter what kind of records you get.

Worst case - you get a bunch of "commons" and nothing else. You still have about 6000 hours of sounds to work with.

Best case - you find some heat and won't have to buy vinyl for a while.

Even if it's crap, 10 cents a record is a good deal. Buy it, and listen to records for samples until you get an MPC.

yea i figured i could always resell the records i wasn't feeling and maybe make a few bucks.

Since your just starting, this is a great way to begin, but later, you'll probably want to weed out the good from the bad from your entire collection. You may find a gem or two in there. For $100, you can't go wrong.

$100.00 is not a good deal just yet. Before you spend $100.00 on "1000 vinyls" you might wanna check out what it is exactly your buying. More is not always better. I personally would rather spend $100.00 on one rare record that few people have, than 1000 trash records that'll be a pain in the azz to sort thru or haul to the compactor.

I got an e-mail returned from the seller, and he told me about half of the collection is 60s-70s Rock, than the next biggest portion is funk and jazz, then the rest is various genres. Sounds good?

Don't waste anymore time, go over there and pick that sh*t up. There is one lil thing though. There probably is a lot less than "1000" records but it's still a great deal for those kinds of styles.

If that's all of 'em, it doesn't look like 1000 records, or even 500. Looks like you may have a good deal tho' considering genres. Still check 'em out first, and if you find at least 100 records outta the pile your doing great.

are you saying I'll be able to find 100 GOOD records or 100 all together. I may not know much, but that is way over 100 records. I will hopefully be going to check it out today, I just need a ride from my lazy brother.

i am working on it, got cash coming in today or tomorrow. then ill be going g to grab the set. the guy is selling those shelves for the same price as the vinyls, but comeone i can make shelves.

I'm sayin' that if you find 100 good records outta that pile (which looks to be about 250-300) it would be great. However if you buy all of it and only find 5 records (ex:Marvin Gaye, Parliment, Rick James, Commodores, and a AWB record) you wasted time/money.
