Quanitze is not for sampling.

It's for sequencing.

Your not understanding the whole quantize thing.

And if you want your timing to be your own then turn quantize off.

MPC will playback exactly how you played it.

So yeah, find the right tempo and chop it.

"Finding the right tempo" is overrated and not needed for most samples.

What are going to do with the tempo of a kick drum one shot?

Never needed to find the right tempo myself..... I see no purpose in it for me.

There is no 1 answer for all samples, you gotta experiment with
all types of samples, practice practice practice...

Another thing some staters get caught up in as that every beat they make they want it to bang. S'not happenin.
You need to make experiment beats, skeletons trying out all the features you can find in your mpc, combining features to MAKE something that is not a feature inside the mpc....

Up to you to know them basics...

The more basics you know the more you can twist up features, combine and chain features together and create stuff that the mpc can't do normally.
