["The SP-606 features stellar 8-voice, CD-quality audio with extensive slice and dice editing of samples via the onboard Chop function. Additionally, a powerful 18,000 notes 4-track MIDI sequencer with BPM Sync feature creates the ability to time stretch audio phrases. An easy-to-read graphic LCD with waveform display allows you to zoom in while editing Start and End points."

The MPC100 can't chop samples and can't time stretch samples too. But its can track up to
64 tracks- it have a better sequencer. I love my MPC1000.]

Here some features from website http://www.roland.com/products/en/SP-606/features.html

"More Storage and Output Options

A CompactFlash memory slot with up to 512MB capacity is available for storing audio samples and for importing/exporting .wav/.aiff files. An onboard USB port facilitates transfer of MIDI data, audio files & audio stream downloading as well as .wav/.aiff files. In combination, the CompactFlash and USB port enable importing or exporting of .wav/.aiff files without requiring a separate CompactFlash reader/writer. Additionally, a coaxial S/PDIF I/O is included.

Expand Your Groove Horizons with P606

The SP-606 comes bundled with powerful P606 software from Cakewalk, eliminating the need for a static CD library. PC-based P606 software functions as a phrase generator/virtual groovebox, integrating with the SP-606 via the USB MIDI/Audio interface. Three kinds of software synthesizers - analog modeling, groovesynth and ACIDized file player - are offered, as well as a loop sequencer, eight effect plug-ins and onscreen control over Mix. As a master controller, the SP-606 can seamlessly import, edit and playback P606 tracks."

lab u are an a***** why u ripping dude like that he probally made the mistake of 32 tracks midi. Which the mpc does has. Thats nice ur not a "gear slut" like those fantom reviews and shit. jesus. but anyway
1st of all this thing is much more powerfull then the mpc cause of the software wit it. U cats judge it by its hardware, but if u saw the editing and storage that it has wit a pc it kicks the shit outta the 1000.
Image
it has synths a sequnecer, editing out the ass, timestrech, soft synths.
If i was in the postion of buying a mpc or the 606 wit my pc i would take the 606 in a heartbeat. If u cats would read a little and understand that there is a world of computer production, u can see how this thing is hot shit. Everyone gets caught up on the little bullshit like ohhhhhh it has 4 tracks oohhhhhh its blah blah. do a little homework.

my head is up. If someone makes a mistake i aint tryin to tell them a mind is a terrible thing to waste. and dude apparnetley read the manual too
Tracks Per Sequence: 64

MIDI Output Channels: 32 (16 channels x 2 output ports)

these "channels" can be considered tracks.

anyway, that thing also has a mixer and a ton of fxs. And piano roll sequincing. I think that thing would be alot better then the MPC if u got a pc.

MPC1000 sequencer
Tracks 64 per sequence
MIDI output channels 32 (16 channels x 2 output ports)
made mistake. :? just got confuse for a second.

but the SP606 look nice. but 4 tracks sequencer, that limited. I can see having one and using with the MPC1000, or any other hardware sequencer. and if you like using the computer for all you productions needs. its something to cop.

SP-606? What's new? It is essentially the old SP-808 with half the features gutted and placed in sotware that requires a computer to access.

One the things I enjoy most about the MPC is that it does not rely on a PC.
