hey guys,

so today I was tryin to layer drums on the 5k using the simult function. When I play the drums back, it has a phaser type sound.

How do I stop this from happening?

Not had that.

Send me the samples you're layering - and I'll try them :D

To stop that phasing sound, sometimes I de-tune the drum sounds away from each other. Tune one up slightly and tune one down slightly and see what happens. You can also play with velocity and filters. It's phasing cause you are either trying to layer the same drum, or drum sounds that are VERY similar sounding.

The 4k is one of the MPC's that doesn't really have the same issue. You can stack the exact same drum or sound with that machine and it will just come out hitting harder.

Well when you actually start making the beat and if it still phases every so often, try my advice, and if it works give moyphee the credit, he did co-sign after all.
