New 2500 user... SLLLLLLOOOWWWW transfer between Mac and MPC

Hey people. So, I recently acquired an MPC 2500. So far I'm loving it... but is it just me or does it take forever for files to transfer from the computer into it? I bought a 2 GB compact flash card for it, and I'm transferring a (roughly) 500 MB sample folder to it, along with some PGM's i created with MPC Pad 187, and it's taking like 2 hours to transfer. Ridiculous.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Maybe there's an easier/quicker way? Thanks.

USB 1.1 = slow. That's what the MPC uses and there's no way to speed it up.

Get a card reader for your computer and transfer via compact flash if you're in a hurry.

it really does suck. i always wanna back up my hdd but its like estimated 10 hours lol. plus i dont think its a good idea to leave the harddrive crankin away for such a long time.

Hmm... I just had a look at a 3D landscape software forum, and they report rendering times of days, if not weeks. If they do animations, it can be months! Non-stop, computer working and you praying for no power cuts. OK, rendering does not put a great strain on your hdd, but I think 10 hours should be fine. That's my full hard drive, and I'd rather have it backed up than treated like a lady.

The 5000 has USB 2.0. I know with my ipod, the transfer rate difference between USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 are astronomical.
