Organizing Samples, PRJs, ETC

Ok, I tried to make folders for different things such as samples, projects, sequences on my computer.

Then i try to load individual samples from my samples folder on the 1K.

I get a message telling me I can only load all of the samples in that folder.

Is there a way of making a folder so that i can go through the files in the folder on the 1K?

What I've found to work well is have two folders in the root folder of the CF card. One for programs and one for songs. I just go into the programs folder, load up the programs I want - make a song, then store the entire memory into a new folder in the songs folder. It keeps duplicate programs separate and songs easy to reload.

i creat a new folder for each individual project, that way i store the samples, sequences, songs, etc... all in the place it need to be.

woops, I forgot that "song" is an MPC term.

I do the same as you, a each project gets a folder.

Like this:

Root
- Programs
- Program 1
- Program 2
- Program 3
- Program ...
- Songs
- Project 1
- Project 2
- Project 3
- Project ...

It's a question of finding an approach that works for you, lets you work wor without getting stressed over missing samples...

Ok, maybe i just am stupid, but I dont get it.

I try to load a sample from a folder and it only lets me load the entire folders contents.

Ive read and reread the manual. I don't get it.

Do you hit "Window" before you try to load up something? It makes things a little clearer on what the MPC will do. Once in that screen, use the cursors to move around or data wheel to scrool through the current folder's contents.

If you work straight from the "LOAD" menu, you might have "View" selected to folders or something else that's distracting.

Or are you hitting "DO IT" to jump into a folder, when you should be using the cursors?

Move through the directory using the left/right cursor keys.

You can use left/right cursor keys to move through the directories. For example, when a folder is selected in the right list, if you select the folder with the cursor and press the right cursor key, the selected folder will be moved to the left list and the contents of that folder will be displayed in the right. If you press the left cursor key, the upper directory will be displayed

No need to press the window key unless you want to view more than one directory/file name at a time.
