midi and synth

Forgive the ignorance but can I hook up a midi controller keyboard to the mpc and play the mpc's synth programs through it?

Yes u can!
U just need one midi cable from OUT of the keyboard to IN of the mpc;)

Yep, a synth wasn't intended to be played from pads anyway.
