Is there a difference between formatting your Zip 100 disks on the MPC 200XL or on you PC Via a USB Zip 100 drive ?. Id rather do it on the PC so i can back up my disks.

Why wouldn't you be able to back them up on the PC if they were formatted in the MPC?

2k/2kxl format is different than pc fat/fat16.
I have ALWAYS formatted on pc fat/fat16 and that media is able to go from pc to mpc to triton extreme with no problem
as long as i stay within 8 character limit.

Oh that's right, I got confused, I haven't got my PC internal zip to work on my new rig yet, I have no clue why.
