Diggin a waste of cash

i had betwen 300 and 500 records but most of them records were not joints that had much replay value after i flipped the one or two sounds on there so sold most of em.

but yeah aint got no issues with the legal side of thing cos most peeps **** with uncleared samples but i find it interesting how peeps rationalise and find was to discredit someones desire to do music just cos they aint working within the limits of operations that they have accepted for themselves.

Records were made to listen to. You know, enjoy the music. I don't give a shit if you recorded the samples off of them and then sold them, that just shows you're not a music fan. You probably listen to rap all the time and have no respect for the music.
Get that shit out of the crate diggers forum.

Even if you sold your records and replaced them with the same MP3s, I still don't know why you wouldn't want to keep the album art or have the vinyl - but don't bother answering that, it won't be a good answer.

I have a 250 GB harddrive and I don't think all of my vinyl could fit on there, computers really limit your digging. The net is a good resource for getting sounds but it's not complete enough to be a standalone source.

Internet + Crate Digging = lots of music opportunities

I have no problem with doing it occasionally, but respect the vinyl or GTFO.

the purpose of going to a crate diggin forum is to gain additional insight on artists to check for, i know artists n lables to check but still always room to expand knowledge and find other artists to look out for.
like i dont know much about 80's dont know much about rock so gotta keep an open mind to that.

sometime limits can help focus attentioned as i mentioned in my 5 years of diggin found some good shit id neva find on-line so i keep them records but now id rather put time in on-line rather then out in the shop.

the stuff u spend money on when ur 18 aint the same stuff u spend money on when ur 25 or 28 so times change im at a point where my finance is directed in other areas.

you truly have to appreciate it to keep buying it and you don't .i can see that to only dig 5yrs,I've been at this for 31yrs i got a collection only you can dream of.
all my music is pre 93 & older.

i have used the net to dig but it's not something i do all the time just to find songs that i have been looking for for yrs.

if you don't like buying vinyl cause IT'S TO EXPENSIVE well you plainly don't know how to dig, cause digging is finding records , good records , for a good price and finding stuff that hasn't been used, one other thing you just don't buy records for sampling that's your first problem you'll not appreciate the records you buy. i can see that cause you sample and sell them...try to listen to the record the hole way thru open your ears to the music being played.

no one is trying to convert you to buying vinyl,only you can make your own mind to do that.but for you to come on here and make a thread saying that digging is a waste of time then your looking to get what you get..sounds to me that you were looking to get these reactions from people on here.

what i said made sense ,if you don't understand it then that's on you, i know the yrs i have been diggin i never have goner to a store and the shop owner WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND cause i don't want what he listens to , i ask for a particular artist cause i know what i want and i know music i know artist.

do what you got to do to make your music sample mp3 download what you have to go to the blogs of your choice and download what OTHERS HAVE DUG UP FOR YOU SO YOU CAN TAKE THE SHORTCUT TO MAKEN YOUR MUSIC.

oh yeah peace and keep downloading leave the vinyl for the people who appreciate it.

to me its maken with what you got,learning the skillz perfecting them adding your own style to it.

its funny, alot of people dig for those gems. I think every record is a gem. I dig for inspiration, sounds that motivate me to chop. If you looking for shit you can flip, every record has something on it. You pick specific genres, labels, artists, etc. to find specific types of sounds, not cause you want to gank a free loop.

no doubt there is a lot of crap out there, but why is it crap? cause its not flippable or cuase it just didnt inspire you?

Hey ede whats up ? I use serato now cos I think that a lot of people that music is played for these days out side of home do not truely appreciate the fact you flippin a rare piece of wax for them. I record my stuff then I can play it on serato if I want. But I'm not gonna waste a finite resource on someone's who's to pissed to care about weather they're listening to the radio or wax. I play records for people who appreciate whats there.

yeah i feel you on that , the last few times i played at a bar i had some females come up to me and asked me to play something other then oldies.
be it she was a 21 yr old. she one of thosekiddie chick's it's all good tho.

it may be a while before i get one ,it's hard to play music you dont know, since i dont listen tothe radio i dont know any new music or any artist so i'm out the loop have been since the 80's thats just me tho.

Every one has accepted it. We can't convert you (and I doubt anyone cares) and you can't convert us. There are other outlets, great. I use them occasionally and am glad they exist, but they aren't better than digging, or maybe you don't know how to dig properly because I can get a great stack of records for $10 and nobody would be unhappy with that deal if they own a turntable and love music.

I'll have a huge stash of physical music when I'm old and can't read computer screens or don't want to learn whatever technology replaces them.

Can we just drop it? I see a new post in Crate Diggers and hope to see someone's new finds and I just keep seeing someone coming in here to bash digging. This isn't the 'sampling' forum, this is the 'crate digging' forum. I probably own a copy of a lot of the records that you cherish on your hard drive, and it probably only cost me a buck or three. I don't mind paying that fee to have the art and a physical copy.
