How to Assign Each Track to a Separate Output?

How to Assign Each Track to a Separate Output so I can record at least 8 tracks at once into my DAW through the 8 individual outputs and is it possible in both JJ OS 1 &2?

Also, does anyone know if it is possible to use the MPC 2500 as a multitimbral instrument thanks to JJ?

yeah that would be pretty sick if you could track out tracks vs.pads or have a choice

I may be missing something here, but usually I build tracks from samples that are placed on a pad. So if you set the output for each pad that has a sample for a particular track to the same individual output, you can then record that "track" into an individual track in ProTools. If you set up all of your tracks this way and sum to any of the 8 outs, then you should be good. Am I missing something. For example.

Pads A1, B1, C1 each have a different kik that makes up a stacked kik for track 1 - Map those three pads to output 1 in the Mixer page

Pads A2, A3, A4 each have a snare and hand clap and that is your track 2 - Map those three pads to output 2 in the Mixer page

Pads B5, B5, C5 are a closed hi hat, open hi hat and a shaker that represents track 3 - Map those three pads to output 3 in the Mixer page

Pads A5, A6 are two bass sounds that are stacked to form track 4 - Map those two pads to output 4 in the Mixer page

Pads A9, A10, A11, A12 are four chops from a sample and you have them each on a separate track - Map each pad to output 5, 6, 7, or 8 in the Mixer.

Plug your cables from the individual outs from the 25k into your interface inputs, select the right input selectors in PT for each of the 8 tracks, hit record and if you are midi'd up, you should start recording all 8 "tracks" into protools simultaneously. I know you can do this in Akai OS. Not sure if this is what you meant, but if so that's it. I KNOW you have to be able to do this in JJ. I don't have JJ, but if you can't do this, then I won't be getting it. One Love.

Thanks a lot for the answers. I'm actually already assigning pads to outputs and that's cool as long as you are using only one program. As soon as you have more than one, it is way more convenient to work with tracks. Besides, there is no way to replicate the phaser effect or other stereo fx by assigning pads to outs though it is great when you want to record a performance as opposed to a beat.

In the end, I'm just a big nerd trying to figure out some black magic tricks out of his padded box, so no big deal here and I will keep assigning pads and recording tracks! lol

You CAN assign Tracks to outputs in JJ OS 2. Hit Mode + Pad 4 (the Track Mixer), change the relevant Track to TRK mode, and select an output.

Besides being one of the reasons why I bought an MPC 2500 after watching your Dub making video on youtube and being a fan of your music, you saved my ass big time with this one! Thanks a lot, I just got JJ OS 2 and am still trying to figure it out. That's great news that I can assign tracks to separate outputs, this way, it's going to be so much faster for tracking.

Man, you are really inspirational, I play your music often as I find it really relaxing. I also downloaded your MPC programs which are really well sampled.
