If somebody has these kinds of problems on an MPC no other piece of hardware or software is likely to help out.

I have to laugh too, a lot of peeps here complain about the new guys rolling in here and asking silly questions. The Ableton boards are way scarier. The MPC boards are pretty sane by comparison.
To the OP...
You really need to play with Tap Tempo or something so you can learn the tempo you want to play at. Or turn on the click track so you can hear the speed and learn to play to that. Also, you may or may not want timing correct on, or you may only want to use it for some parts of the beat you record or not others.
If I had to guess, it sounds like you may have been playing a beat at one tempo but the MPC is recording at a different tempo. This can lead to all kinds of problems.
You want a beat guide, check out MPC Tutorials at the top and buy the MPC1000 Beat Making book. There's a lot there, and it will help get you up to speed with a lot of the concepts you'll need to learn.
Unfortunately there isn't really any free ride with any music hardware/software. I don't know your experience level but there are a lot of terms and concepts that you may need to learn so that you can communicate your problems to other forum members. The forum is already pretty well littered with miscommunications, misunderstandings, etc and from your post it is almost impossible to tell what your *real* problem is as you provided very little information about your issue.
