Help me locate quantization feature on my 500

I'm STILL trying to figure out why my 500 doesn't trigger 'staccatto' sounding samples as accurately as my 2000?

I was told in my past post that my 500 might need quantizing (sorry about my spelling..) I have been looking to adjust this but I can't find this feature.


Recap on ongoing problem: When you try to trigger samples quickly -the notes/samples BLUR together. (It's not the samples, they work fine on the 2000.)

I tried adjusting the one shot, adjusted the decay from 5 to 100, adjusted the velocity, experimented with mute groups, adjusted the polophonic settings..nothing has worked.
Not even close to the 'staccatto' sounding samples I trigger with the 2000.


Still trying to figure out-
Is the problem that the 500 will never trigger staccatto sounding samples like the 2000?
And if it is capable to do this, how can I get it to? Will quantizing fix this?

put the sample on Mono instead of Poly,that way the sample doesnt play into itself when u hit that pad repeatedly.also..if u r hitting multiple pads quickly,then put the ones u r hitting quickly into the same mute group.....hit the time time correct button and mess around with the options,i like having the time correct around 55-60% at 1/16 for laying the hi hats for that awesome swing.

I don't know if this makes a difference but I am not triggering with the pads but with a keyboard.

When I use the time correct feature, it acts as if I want to record.
This might sound strange but I want to trigger samples in real time/ staccacco when I'm not recording - to play sounds/samples with my keyboard. (Not trying to make a beat.)


I thought If I could locate the quantization feature I might be able to trigger staccatto samples.

put the timing correct at the intervals you want your rolls to be in - hold "note repeat" on the MPC and hold the sound you want triggered. It might be kind of awkward on a keyboard though, I've never tried.
