It's soon christmas... and a half year since the last/first OS updates for the flagship 8)

Any news from Akai or JJ? What about MPC 5000 OS 1.5? :D

lol yes but there are years of further experience in between now!!

I think bad press messed up the success of the 5k. It's not bad, hardware and workflow are cool enough 8).
So it's up to Akai now. I don't care if they call it 1.5, 1.3 or 2.0 - an OS release before xmas may some undecided turn to the 5k and would make the MPC world a better place :mrgreen:

And I thought the 5K received an OS update just a few months ago...but like most..I would like to see within the next 1-3 months.

There may be a positive in that. If any element pushes the OS towards Open Source ( or even out sourced) that's a major plus for end users. In that case you would JJ and several coders like him competing for the next cool feature to be under their name.

Look to the web browsers to see this in action. Creative coders churning out feature after feature for Firefox- ultimately taking the browser to a new level. So we know the model works to great effect.
