BUG in TRIM menu

Don't know if this has been posted here already but i discovered a big bug in theTRIM menu.

After you DISCARD a mono sample (cutting of the strart and end points) there's a click in the next sample. Example: DISCARD a big part of sample01 and then listen to sample02 and you'll probably hear a 'click' that wasn't there before.
The bug becomes even clearer if you cut the sample to zero: set START and END point both to "0" and then choose EDIT > DISCARD. After you've done this the next sample will be gone - the name is empty and the END position says "???". This "nameless" sample cannot be deleted.
It gets crazier if you discard this "nameless" sample - all samples after that one have now disappeared.
If you load new samples after this they won't show up in PROGRAM. Spin the DATA WHEEL and you'll only see the samples before the "nameless" sample.
For some reason this bug only appears with mono samples, stereo samples can be trimmed without a problem.
I sample in the MPC1000 directly so it can't be a software compatibility problem.
It seems like a problem with memory allocation after cutting. I tested it on three different MPC's and they had the same problem in both 1.03 and 1.04. So i'm pretty sure it's a bug in the OS but would like to hear what you experience when you try the above.
Hope Akai fixes this bug soon, then i can start sampling.....

I just heard it for the first time yesterday when i was chopin up some samples, There WAS a lil Click.

Yo Did You Report Dis to akai? You should. I confirm it. Shit is anoying.

I experienced the same bug. When you watch the sample in a wave editor you'll notice there's just a tiny part missing, that's what's causing the click. I brought my mpc back to the shop for repair, that's 4 weeks ago. Haven't heart anything from them yet.
Luckily I had a song with untrimmed samples on my cf card. Everytime one discards one of the samples a click occurs in the next, always on the same place.
There have been some threads about this bug on this forum, a few. I think its a hardware issue, if it was os related more people should have it.

the samething happen to me. at 1st i thought the "CLICK"in the sample was from the record. this is really anoying.

YO!! i just tried it too. Same clicks... this really pisses me off. .. I am gonna trade up for a mpc3000 if there is no fix for this. It's not like its a subtle click either,. It is quite noticeble.. Either i am trading or gonna just use the mpc as a sequencer ... damn...

Even with the factory samples i get the clicking and also the disappearing of all samples after any discarded sample with the trim start and end set at zero. I am on os 1.04 I hope every owner can check this and confirm and what os they are using etc.. Akai has got to fix this....

I did another test/ when discarding one sample with zero start and end setting when i hit the pad i got some crazy digital static sound and then the screen bugged out and i got this message:

I had that happen couple of time and figured it had to do with voltage issue between the start and end. The I just got pissed and cleared the sample and tryed over and it did not happen. That's fukked though I hope it doesn't become an issue

i've ran into a gang of bugs...

tapping the play button in step edit a bunch when changing velocity will a lot of the time suddenly take me to the erase screen...

I tried to record midi events while listening to the keyboard in record mode(don't ask) and it completely tainted my whole project, the step edit screen was showing ?:??:??? in the NOW field...

geeee what else... nothing to really **** about. if you email them ask them if they're going to add any major features with the release of the harddrive, thats what I want dammit.

Just use stereo. it won't be a problem then

Damn, just when I was hoping the 1000 bugs were on their way out, this one is pretty major, stereo sampling at all times, or just to trim then convert to mono?

I've emailed a link to this thread to the firm in charge of supporting Akai products in the UK.

I just got off the phone with Akai support US. They got my email and i had the chance to explain by phone the problem. They are gonna run some tests and get on the case. They said if in fact it is a software issue, and he said it probably is, then they will tweak out the problem and release a new OS. They will be speaking with the engineering team asap. Until then if you do alot of trimming --use stereo sampling. That was also important information to akai that it only happens with mono samples. They were thankful for that info.
