MPC Brain Freeze

I've just been approached by cats who I highly respect to put out an album on there label imprint! Naturally I'm
stoked and ready to get down to business! Well my trusty side kick the MPC 2000 isn't on the same page as me nah'mean I was putting together the second beat for my album..(and it was sounding butta)..and..BAAMMM!!!!
brain freeze!!! Now this has happened in the past from time to time..but..lately when I really need her...it seems to be freezing up more often so question: has anyone had the same problem and had to replace a certian part please get at me! Thanx - Ink

If you know how it to handle electronics, open that beast and carefuly clean it (RAM Slots, Boards etc.)
But maybe there is some serious shit goin on. Who knows....

when it gets brain freeze just rub its temples and it should be cool

I think I have had some similar problems -- and just like you said, when I really need it.

I have lost some of my better recordings that way, its almost like "it knows".


last time it happened was just after making a 48-measure recording straight-through. I finished, went to move back to bar 1 and bamo - brain freeze.

To combat this, I have just taken my own brain back to the 90's and remembered to save CONSTANTLY -- after every addition or change to a sequence, save, and save again if its that important.

I think I am gonna clean my sensors and junk this weekend and see if i can cure my MPC's migrane.
