It just doesnt matter whether its a TS jack or an RCA. In fact, I find it rather strange that RCA is the standard for S/PDIF (because that is what it is) because a TS jack would have the same functionality, but would be much more durable.

Digital audio pros and cons
Good:
- No noise, no buzzing, just pure clean signal
- Cable isnt prone to ground loops, magnetic field or anything that might f--k up the signal.
Not good:
- Not every piece of gear has S/PDIF I/O
- You can't use the Rec Gain knob anymore. I dont know if you can set the digital gain on the 2000xl somewhere, but to reach a proper 0dB max, I just tweak the S/PDIF out on my soundcard.
Conclusion:
I prefer S/PDIF over analog. Simple.
